PSS girls’ caging tomorrow


THE Wells Fargo Financial/PSS Interscholastic Girls’ Basketball Tournament will be held tomorrow at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
Ten teams will be fighting for this year’s championship. They are defending champion San Antonio Elementary School, Dandan Elementary School, William S. Reyes Elementary School, San Vicente Elementary School and Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School of Pool A and Oleai Elementary School, Tanapag, Garapan, Kagman and Koblerville of Pool B.
Each team will play three games in the elimination round and will meet the squads in their brackets.
The top two teams in each pool after the elimination round will move into the playoffs. The first placer in Pool A battles the second placer in Pool B and vice versa for the two finals berth.
The tournaments will start at 8 a.m.


Saipan Ocean Swimmoved to March 11


The Saipan Swim Club-organized 29th Saipan Ocean Swim has been moved from this Sunday to next Sunday, March 11 to give way to other races being held this weekend.
Registration is still set for 7 a.m. at World Resort, while the races will begin at 8 a.m.
The annual event will have competitions in eight age groups.
The 8-and-under will cover a distance of 600m, 1000m for 9 to 10 age group, 1300m for 11 to 12 and 2500m for 13 to 14 and 15 to 19 age groups.
Participants in the 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59 and 60-and-over age groups can join either the 1300m race or the 2500m.

PIC-OREXTTERE Sunday


THE Northern Mariana Islands Triathlon Federation will be holding the PIC-OREXTTERE this Sunday.
Races start at 7:30 a.m., while registration begins at 7 a.m.
The entry fee is $10 for NMITF members and $15 for non-members.
The swim leg at PauPau Beach will have a distance of 1000m, while the mountain bike race will cover 20K and the trail run will be 5K


8th Annual St. Jude golfest April 14


THE 8th Annual St. Jude Golf Tournament will be held April 14 on the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.
Registration is at 6 a.m., while shotgun tee off is at 7:30 a.m.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used to repay a Church construction loan.
