By Cherrie Anne E. Villahermosa

THE Superior Court says there is probable cause to believe that a man committed the offense of assault and battery and disturbing the peace when he hit a woman with a serving tray.
Eria Elliot appeared for a preliminary hearing last week before Associate Judge David A. Wiseman
Elliot was charged with assault and battery and disturbing the peace.
His counsel, Assistant Public Defender Samuel J. Randall, asked the court for a psychiatric evaluation on the defendant.
Wiseman said the court will determine if a psychiatric evaluation order should be issued on or before the defendant’s scheduled arraignment which was set for today at 9 a.m.
Elliot was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections.
The information filed in court by the Attorney General’s Office states that on or about Feb. 21, Elliot “did unlawfully strike, beat, wound or otherwise do bodily harm to a woman.”
Elliot, the information added, hit a woman with a serving tray.
