(MVA) Targeting
the house-wives of Japans working class citizens, the Marianas Visitors
Authority, together with its members, hosted the Suteki Na Okusan
which means Nice Housewives media magazine crew
from Japan in mid February.
Focused on targeting the young family market, this publication will allow
the CNMI to be portrayed in four pages of its monthly magazine.
Circulated in Japan with over 208,000 copies, we see this as a potential
medium to attracting the family market, stated MVA Managing Director
Perry Tenorio.
The publication conducted a readers recipe contest called Kondate
on Nov. 19, 2006 that offered the CNMI as part of its first prize offer.
The winner, Ms. Ohashi, received a free trip to Saipan with her family.
They were also provided complimentary hotel accommodations at the Saipan
World Resort.
The family also had the opportunity to experience Managaha courtesy of
Tasi Tours, a submarine tour provided by the Pacific Subsea, a car provided
by Hertz Car Rental and a tasteful delight at the Garapan Street Market.
The magazine crew covered the familys fun-filled experience on Saipan.
We were most impressed by the scenery as it perfectly fit what we
were looking for. We will most likely come back again for vacation with
family and friends, stated Ms. Ohashi.
The magazine has agreed to feature the Tinian Hot Pepper festival in the
page 4 article about the CNMI. MVA provided information regarding the
turnout of the event to the editor who has agreed to make the placement.
This free exposure amounted to over $72,000. We are fortunate to
receive such publicity and MVA continues to seek out these types of opportunities
featuring all islands of Saipan, Tinian and Rota, stated Tenorio.
