(RGA) — EVEN under the treacherous layout of the Laolao East course along with feisty veteran golfers behind him on Sunday February 18th, Sonny Flores rose above such adverse factors and earned himself the prestigious prize of February Ace of the Month with a gross score of 80 and net score of 69. His persistence through a tough match with the veteran golfers outscored Jess Wabol’s net score of 70 from the last RGA qualifying round. The eleven-handicapper Sonny Flores also showed consistency by evening both front and back nine with a gross score of 40 each. At second place, Adam Hardwicke turned in another impressive score of 75 gross and 70 net and continues to be a threat in every tournament. Quiet but effective John Mettao inched up to place third with a gross score of 85 and 71 net.
Closest the pin at par three’s, the accuracy of Mr. Tony Satur stuck his ball less than a foot from the pin on hole #4 while veteran Jess Wabol took hole #15 with his ball only thirteen inches from the pin.
“Well, that is golf. Often times you would be on top on almost all of your shots today and then suddenly you are all lefty in tomorrow’s round. But, we are here to complete and have fun and today, I decided to just have fun,,” were the humble words of top golfer Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho.
Net score results of other players are Gus Camacho at 73, Ed Tenorio at 81, Jess Wabol at 73, Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho at 77, Andy Nepaial at 72, Alex Aquiningoc at 78, Tony Satur at 76, Joe Wabol at 92, Ben Duenas at 90 and Regino Celis at 73.
RGA begins the 1st qualifying round for this month’s Ace of the Month on Saturday, March 03, 2007 at the beautiful Coral Ocean Point golf course. RGA reminds all members to report to the Coral Ocean Point Golf Course by 11:00 am for the 12:00 pm tee off time.
