A MAN and a woman were arrested for loitering and soliciting customer and for operating an illegal taxi in Garapan on Saturday night.
Police said Yanong Lin Doone, 36, followed a group of male tourists heading to the Harmony Music Box in Garapan, while Jin Zheng Long, 35, operated an unlicensed taxi.
Jin was arrested on Saturday night after the Department of Public Safety received a call about his illegal taxi operation.
DPS spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro Uludong said a preliminary investigation disclosed that responding police officers noticed a vehicle dropping off a passenger at the GIG discotheque.
The passenger was questioned by the police officer after he stepped out of the car.
Jin was then asked by the officer about his illegal taxi operation.
On the same night, Yanong Lin Doone was arrested for loitering and soliciting.
The woman, according to the police, was known to frequent the Hafa Adai Shopping Center and the ABC Store.
The police officer asked the male tourists she was following about their relationship with the woman.
When the tourists replied that they didn’t know the woman and had no relationship with her, the officer approached Yanong Lin Doone and advised her not to bother the tourists.
But later that night, the same police officer observed the same group of men leaving the Harmony Music Box being followed by the same woman.
Yanong Lin Doone was seen conversing with the men and handing a business card to one of them.
The police officer then approached Yanong Lin Doone and arrested her for violation of Public Law 14-50.
