Acting Attorney General Christopher Hale commended John Faimau of the Blue Marlin Dive Shop for finding his digital camera.
In a letter to Faimau said that he lost his camera during a diving at the New Drop Off wall.
"I would like to commend you and your honesty and good nature for your recovery of a diver’s Fujifilm underwater digital camera from the New Drop Off dive site this past Saturday," Hale said in the letter.
Hale said when he found out that the camera is missing he tried to swim against the current to look for it.
"I was elated, having been sulking on the afternoon of Feb. 24 at the NECO bar, when it was reported to me that a Blue Marlin dive guide had found the camera and tracked me down by reviewing the pictures contained on the memory card. Fortunately the camera was unharmed despite being lodged against a piece of coral," Hale said.
