WATCH & Learn denied Kich Fairo a decent finish in the second round of the World Organized Rocball Community League, as the former claimed a 67-27 juiced out win yesterday at the Marianas High School Gym.
Kich Fairo bowed out of competition winless in five games, while Watch & Learn will enter the semifinals seeded second with a 4-1 record. The defending champion Mwaliyas are seeded first with a perfect 5-0 slate.
Kich Fairo had a chance to extend the game in overtime and notch its first win in the second round when it led by four, 15-11, at the closing part of the fourth set.
But Watch & Learn recovered with Tyce Mister nailing an ace to win the fourth set, 17-15.
Watch & Learn took the first set convincingly winning by 13, 17-4. The No. 2 team won back-to-back sets when it posted an 18-5 triumph in the second set.
Kich Fairo had its worst game in the third set, as it only scored three points, while Watch & Learn had 15.
Watch & Learn swept all four sets of the match with a two-point win in the fourth set.
Mister was the game’s heavy hitter scoring 20 points on five kees, three aces and two xunxs.
Mark McDonald added 19 markers on seven kees, one ace and one goal.
Two goals were scored in the game with JR Hardman drilling the other one in the fourth set.
Eight aces, three xunx and 16 kees were scored in the game.
Only one match is left before the tournament starts its playoffs next week.
Da Lani Kynez (2-2) and the Dublon Chiefs (2-2) meet today to determine the final position of the last two semifinalists. The winner of the match will be seeded third in the semis and will face Watch & Learn, while the loser will square off with the Mwaliyas.
The semifinals will be a best-of-three games affair, while the championship series will have a best-of-five matches format
