(DEQ) — The first 100 volunteers to show up at 8 a.m. on Saturday for the DEQ Cleanup Brigade at Bird Island will receive a free T-shirt.
Meet the DEQ representative in the bright green T-shirt at the hike entrance to Bird Island.
Volunteers will be asked to hike to the island and pick up debris along the roadway leading to the lookout and picnic area. Trash bags, gloves and water will be provided.
Outstanding brigade volunteers who participate in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participate in at least three cleanups will receive a green brigade t-shirt.
