The Senate on
Wednesday Feb. 28 announced its new official website at http://senate.palauoek.net
http://www.senateoek.net/.
The new interactive website has been opened since yesterday and is an
important resource on matters pertaining to the Senate and includes bio-data
on Palau's nine Senators.
It also contains a list of Senate Committees and their membership and
assistants as well as Bills and Resolutions.
Also included are updated press releases, dates for upcoming regular sessions,
hearings, and oversight visits; pictures; and a list of staff.
Individuals can identify Bills or Resolutions they would like to have
more information about and request of electronic copies by E-Mailing senate@palauoek.net
or senate@palaunet.com <senate@palaunet.com.>.
The Senate also invites comments from the public on pending legislation.
"The new Senate website will be a vital asset for researchers and
individuals seeking information on pending legislation, and will be another
channel for the Senate to inform the people of Palau about legislation
that affects them," said Senate Floor Leader Alan R. Seid.
In his welcoming message to visitors to the website, Senate President
Johnny Reklai writes: "This website...will allow people who are interested
in the affairs of the Senate to be updated and informed about what is
going on... Public involvement is a key to the legislation that is passed
at the Senate."
The Senate website was designed and created by Joshua "Osu"
Wilter, whose own website at www.olekoi.com is an important resource for
news from Micronesia, information on Palau, and Palauan merchandise.
