Topside is on fire in second round of NBL

Topside On Fire streaked to its third win against the Kinsmen, 71-66, last Saturday March 3 and remained undefeated in its second round assignments in Division II of the 2007 Shell National Basketball League at the Palau National Gymnasium.
On Fire established a 22-10 first quarter lead on the way to the win with Siakang and Jeremy leading the way tih 19 points apiece.
Earlier on March 1, On Fire posted a stunning 89-88 victory over a highly-rated Peches with team captain Achai scoring 19, including the marginal point from the free throw line.
Before that, Frisko, who had 14 in the game, sank three straight points, also from the stripes to help with the win while Farley finished with 11.
In the other game on March 3, the Ngiwal 79ers defeated Peches, 68-64.
Also on March 1, the Stingers outplayed Mesang, 86-73, with Topps Sungino and Chua chipping-in 15 points each and Vann Isaac 12.
With the win the Stingers are also undefeated after two starts in Pool 1 of second round actions.
Palau Pacific Resort also went on to beat the Kinsmen, 75-59.
The current team standings for Division II are the following:
Pool 1 – Stingers (2-0), Jaguars (2-0), Mesang (2-1), Kabong (1-1), Bullets (1-1), Ngiwal Central (0-1), Kelbokel (02-) and Mesekiu (0-2).
Pool 2 – On Fire (3-0), Ngiwal 79ers (2-0), PPR (2-0), Blue Sharks (1-1), Peches (1-2), Matadors (0-1), Airai (0-2) and Kinsmen (0-3).
