THE Dublon Chiefs claimed
the No. 3 seeding going into the playoffs of the World Organized Rocball
Community League following their 50-43 juiced-out triumph over Da Lani
Kynez yesterday at the Marianas High School Gym.
The Dublon Chiefs ended the second round of the annual tournament with
a 3-2 record placing third behind the Mwaliyas (5-0) and Watch & Learn
(4-1), while Da Lani Kynez finished with a 2-3 slate and slipped to the
No. 4 spot.
In the semifinals, the Dublon Chiefs meet Watch & Learn, which defeated
them twice.
Da Lani Kynez is paired with pennant and defending champion Mwaliyas.
The semifinals will be a best-of-three affair.
Winners of the semis series will square off for the championship, which
will have a best-of-seven format.
Rocball creator Jim Feger said the playoffs will start next week.
The Dublon Chiefs drew first blood winning the opening set, 15-8.
But Da Lani Kynez recovered big in the second set, 17-5, with Myron Laniyo
nailing the first goal in the game.
The Dublon Chiefs drilled back-to-back goals in the third set with Ybonn
Kapwich and JR Rudolph hitting one apiece en route to a 15-10 win.

emerged victorious at the end with a 15-8 win in the last set.
