Saipan Ocean Swim postponed

THE 29th edition of the Saipan Ocean Swim, which was set for this Sunday at the World Resort, has been postponed.
The organizing Saipan Swim Club said that they are rescheduling the event for April 21due to the bad weather.
Registration is still set for 7 a.m. at World Resort, while the races will begin at 8 a.m.
Participants in the 20 to 29, 30 to 29, 40 to 49, 50 to 59 and 60-and-over age groups can join either the 1300m or the 2500m race.

2-man scramble golf event at LaoLao west

A 2-man scramble format golf tournament will be held this Saturday on the west course of the LaoLao Bay Golf Resort.
Only the first 10 pairs will be allowed to play in the tournament. The entry fee is $200 per team.
Participants must choose their own partners, as organizers will not do the pairings.
The check-in time is 11 a.m., while tee off is at 11:56 a.m.
Only the gross scores will be used to determine the winners in the tournament. The number of winners and the cash prizes will depend on the number of participants.

Wells Fargo/PSS boys’ caging tomorrow

THE Wells Fargo Financial/PSS Interscholastic Boys’ Basketball Tournament will be held tomorrow at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
Ten teams will be vying for this year’s crown, including defending champion William S. Reyes Elementary School.
The participating teams are grouped into two pools.
WSR is in Pool A with San Antonio, Dandan Elementary School, San Vicente Elementary School and Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School.
Pool B is composed of Oleai Elementary School, Tanapag, Garapan, Kagman and Koblerville.

All Island Grappling/ Submission Challenge

TRENCH Tech Purebred Saipan MMA will be hosting the first-ever All Island Grappling/Submission Challenge on March 31 at the Garapan Central Park’s Round House.
Dubbed as “The Art of War,” the event will feature mixed martial artists, who train in the sport of jujitsu, wrestling and submission grappling as a hobby and want to engage in hand- to- hand sports combat without NHB (no holds barred) full contact rules such as striking and punching.
