New jury trial for man charged with taking endangered species

A businessman indicted for taking endangered species will be getting a new jury trial this week.
The trial of Soleman will begin today in federal with the selection of a new set of jurors.
His first jury trial was held from Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, 2006.
Soleman was represented by attorney Robert T. Torres while the federal government was represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy Moran.
U.S. District Court for NMI Chief Judge Alex Munson declared a mistrial after the jury failed to return a unanimous verdict on Nov. 8, 2006.
Soleman was indicted on one count of taking endangered species for cutting tangan-tangan trees while clearing land for his charcoal business.
