A MAN died early yesterday
morning as he was being transported to Naval Hospital after he was ejected
from his vehicle in a single car accident.
The accident took place on the road to Leo Palace Resort, by the Lonfit
River, at 5:28 a.m. yesterday.
No further details about the accident were available, except that it was
a single car accident.
Guam Fire Department spokesperson Phyllis Blas said Medic 9 transported
the man to the Naval Regional Medical Center on Naval Hospital while he
was being given CPR.
Police continue to investigate the matter to determine whether speed and/or
alcohol were contributing factors.
YSeng Song traffic rerouted
In other news, GPD had to reroute traffic for several hours on Saturday
afternoon after a 70-ton trailer crane tipped over onto its side while
en route to the construction site of the new northern high school in Astumbo.
Reports said the crane swung around after the driver had taken a turn.
GPD continues to look into this incident and there is no word yet on whether
any traffic citations will be issued.
Man pinned
under cement truck
In other news, the 42-year-old man who was pinned under the cement truck
he was driving on Friday morning is now doing well.
At 11:05 a.m. on Friday, the man was driving a truck at the Hawaiian Rock
Quarry when it overturned on an embankment.
The man was pinned from the waist down and rescue personnel had to use
the jaws of life to free him. Blas said when authorities pulled
the man out at 1:29 p.m., he was alert and conscious..
