Second baseman Cleofas Iyar of Palau Community College is the leading scorer in the ongoing Palau Major League.
Based on the statistics released yesterday by PML President Ling Inabo, Iyar had an average of .444 or 12 hits of 27 at bats.
Three PCC players landed in the top six with catcher and homerun leader Melengis Uchel at third with an average of .419 (31-13) while first baseman Dastin Penland in sixth with an average of .385 (39-15).
Five of the top 10 scoring leaders are from Ngerbeched including shortstop Kalei Lui at second with .423 (52-22); Brent Melairei at fourth .410 (39-16), Saisang Saridel at fifth .393 (28-11), Billy Umang at ninth .341 (44-15) and Eric Kyota at 10th .333 (42-14).
