There will be scheduled power outages over the weekend due to the road widening project in Airai and Koror.
PPUC Chairman of the Board Kione Isechal in an interview said that a number of power posts are being transferred to give way to the widening.
Isechal said that power outages are scheduled during the weekend to avoid interruption of business operations.
Isechal said power outages schedule will be announced over the radio to inform the public.
The Bureau of Public Works started cutting the trees and the transfer of the power posts are all part of the Phase III of the project for the improvement of the Inter-Island Access Road in Palau.
The project will commence within the year.
Isechal said 20 power posts will be transferred or 50 percent of the power lines situated in the Koror Highway.
The power posts that need to be moved are mostly situated in the Palau Visitor’s Authority area and Topside.
