7 teams battle in KFAS President’s Cup

SEVEN teams will vie for the championship in the Korean Football Association of Saipan President’s Cup 2007 this Sunday at the Oleai Sports Complex field.
The participating squads are grouped into two pools with Real Mariana, L&S/Alliance, PTI Guardians and Tinian Dynasty in Pool A. Pool B is composed of Korean A, Fiesta Inter-dependents and Onwell.
The top finishers in each age group will fight for the championship, while the second placers will square off in a consolation match.
The one-day tournament will start at 8 a.m. with L&S Alliance/Real Mariana opening the hostilities in the annual event.
Fiesta Inter will take on Korean A in the second match at 9 a.m., while the PTI Guardians will collide with Tinian Dynasty at 10 a.m.
Fiesta Inter will play its second game at 11 a.m. against Onwell, while Real Mariana will duel Tinian Dynasty at 12 n.n.
Korean A will face Onwell at 1 p.m., while the last game in the elimination round will feature L&S/Alliance going up against the PTI Guardians at 2 p.m.
The third place match is set for 3 p.m., while the winner-take-all championship game will be played starting at 4 p.m.
A brief award ceremony and raffles will take place at 5:15 p.m.
First placers will receive a trophy and $200 cash, while the second and third finishers will get $150 and $100 cash, respectively.
KFAS will also give individual awards for Most Valuable Player, Best Defender and Best Goalie. It will also give trophies for Sportsmanship and to the player with the most goals.
The tournament will implement a 25-minute per half and 10-minutes break format.
