Man, son plead not guilty to assault charges

THE man and his son charged for beating up their kin and his wife have pleaded not guilty.
Vicente Igisaiar Teregeyo, 65 and Valerian Saures Teregeyo, 29, were in court on Monday for their arraignment.
They will to return to the court for a status conference on April 17.
Vicente I. Teregeyo is represented by Assistant Public Defender Adam Hardwicke while Valerian S. Teregeyo is represented by attorney Bruce Berline.
The defendants are on bail and were released through a third-party custodian, Valentin Taisacan, mayor of Northern Mariana Islands and their relative.
The father and son were charged on March 7 with assault and battery, assault with dangerous weapon and attempted aggravated assault and battery.
Vicente I. Teregeyo was charged with two counts of assault and battery for beating up his nephew and his wife.
Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield stated in the information filed in court that Vicente I. Teregeyo struck Patrick Romolor Litulumar in the head and his wife Hui Yang Litulumar in the face on February 25.
The information added that Valerian S. Teregeyo on Feb. 25, hit his cousin Patrick Litulumar in the face and head.
Valerian S. Teregeyo “did unlawfully threaten to cause, attempt to cause and or purposely cause bodily injury to Patrick Litulumar with a dangerous weapon — a brick or hollow block.”
Valerian S. Teregeyo on Feb. 25, “did attempt to purposely knowingly or recklessly cause serious bodily injury to Patrick Litulumar being an overt act which constitutes a substantial step in a course of conduct planned to culminate in the commission of aggravated assault and battery.”
Police affidavit stated that the victims were at the house of their father in Oleai area and were having conversation when assaulted by the defendants.
