San Nicolas records 17 strikeouts in Aztecs 13-1 victory vs Angels

PITCHER Nicolas San Nicolas had 17 strikeouts, as the Mobil Kagman Aztecs downed the Northern Angels, 13-1, in the Big League division of the 2007 Saipan Little League Baseball tournament last Tuesday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.
San Nicolas pitched in no relief in complete seven innings allowing six hits and one run.
Josh Arriola and Smith Regis led the Aztecs offensive game with the former going 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs.
Regis was 3-for-4 at the plate and made three runs, a double and one RBI.
James Crisostimo gave the Angels their first run at the bottom of the third inning, but that was their first and last as Nicolas struck out the Angels’ one batter after another and the Aztecs put off a solid defense in the last four innings.
Action in the Big League continues tonight with the PTI Fielders facing the Hustlers at 6 p.m.
Games in the other divisions will be played this weekend.
In the Juniors division, the Hustlers will square off with the Ol’Aces in the first game this Saturday at 9 a.m., while the Jets will take on the Tanapag Warriors in the second game at 3 p.m.
Only one game is set for Sunday in the Juniors division with the Filders battling the Pirates at 12 n.n.
In the Seniors division, the Fielders will meet the Hustlers this Saturday at 12 n.n., while two games are scheduled for Sunday. The Falcons collide with the Pirates in the first match at 9 a.m., while the Jets will fight the Fielders.
The Majors division will have eight games this weekend.
This Saturday, McDonald’s will meets the Dragons in the first game. The second match on Saturday will feature the Jets fcing the Chalan Kanoa Bears, while the Little Legals will duel the Aztecs in the third game. The Ol’Aces II will square off with the A’s in the fourth game.
The streaking SAIPANCELL Patriots and Wells Fargo/As Matuis Twins meet in the second game this Sunday.
Also scheduled to play this Sunday are the Ol’Aces I, who will square off with the winless Toyota Matrix (0-4) in the first game, the Braves vs the Pirates in the third game and the Hustlers against the Red Sox in the fourth match.
