THE other semis pairing at the World Organized Rocball Community League started its series yesterday at the Marianas High School Gym with the Dublon Chiefs and Watch & Learn splitting the first two sets and the former leading midway through the third.
The Dublon Chiefs, who are seeded third going into the playoffs, stunned Watch & Learn in the opening set of Game 1 of their semis series, with Ichnis Kapwich leading his team to a 17-0 victory.
Kapwich had four aces in the first set.
Watch & Learn put its acts together in the second set and recovered with a close 15-14 victory.
Watch & Learn picked up where it left off leading by four, 10-6, midway in the third set, which was halted, as students needed to return to class.
The game resumes today with Tarness Kapwich serving and his Dublon Chiefs leading by 12, 37-25.
If the Dublon Chiefs hang on to the lead and win the fourth set, they will take Game 1 of the best-of-three semis series and move a win away from clinching a finals berth.
Inchnis has earned 10 points after two and a half sets, as aside from the four aces, he also had a xunx.
Mark McDonald was leading Watch & Learn with seven points on an ace, a kee and a goal. He drilled the loan goal so far in the game nailing one in the third set.
Eight aces, a xunx, two kees and a goal were scored so far in the match.
The winner of the Dublon Chiefs-Watch & Learn series will face the victor of the Mwaliyas-Da Lani Kynez tiff in a best-of-seven games title showdown.
Mwaliyas took Game 1, escaping with a 64-57 double overtime victory last Tuesday.
