WE are Ms. Beth’s 8th grade language arts students at Hopwood Junior High School.
We have been working very hard this quarter on our writing skills. We brainstormed, outlined, wrote, triple edited, and rewrote seven essays for our portfolios. As a culminating activity, we are rewriting our favorite essay for a very special reason.
We know that as of today, there are only 53 more days of junior high school. Then we will be high school freshmen. We are nervous and excited to go to high school, and want to be sure we are ready.
We are looking for at least 10 secondary language arts teachers to help us. Are there any secondary language arts teachers who would be willing to come to Hopwood on Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and score just 10 of our papers? If 10 teachers come and score 10 papers each, then the task will be completed quickly.
We are asking sincerely for some support from our future teachers. Ms. Beth has promised to provide a clean, well-lit atmosphere, with refreshments!
She will also provide the scoring rubrics, but we would also appreciate it if you bring one from your school as well.
