THE local Democratic Party is inactive but it’s still alive, says Vice Speaker Justo S. Quitugua.
He is one of only two Democratic House candidates elected in 2005.
There are 18 House seats.
Quitugua said he will seek a third term this year as a Democrat.
“I have yet to be invited to any (of our) committee meetings and I really don’t know who the officials are but I’ve heard that the acting party chairman is Manuel C. Sablan,” he said.
Sablan has reportedly replaced Gabriel Babauta who resigned.
Variety tried to contact the two but failed to do so.
The other Democrat in the House is Floor Leader Florencio T. Deleon Guerrreo.
He and Quitugua are with the House leadership led by the ruling Covenant Party.
