VANCOUVER, Wa. (KGW)
The estranged girlfriend of a serial robbery suspect was arrested
Thursday, March 8, and said she will tell the truth to investigators,
according to a police document obtained by KGW, News Channel 8 in the
nations northwest.
Marjorie Reyes, 25, of Vancouver, was arrested without incident at an
apartment she often shared with Jimmy Kashi.
Just moments earlier, police captured Kashi, a suspect in at least 11
armed robberies around the Portland and Vancouver Metro areas. They had
been tracking his every move since he showed up at Reyes apartment
and moved in for the arrest shortly after Kashi drove off in his SUV.
Back at the apartment, Reyes talked to police and gave them permission
to conduct a search. The police report stated that she told Officer Bryan
Acee with the Vancouver Police Department that she thought Kashi did
the robbery across the street.
She went on to say that she believed in being truthful with people
and was not a liar and also showed officers where she had two stashes
of drugs meth and ecstasy.
In addition to the drugs, police said they found Kool cigarettes in Reyes
apartment and noted in the police report that Kool cigarettes were stolen
in the recent armed robberies.
Reyes told officer Acee that she smoked Kool cigarettes and Kashi smoked
Kool Lites.
She said she had known Kashi for several years and both were from the
small island of Saipan. She said she began dating him in Oct. of 2006,
but the two had recently broken up. Reyes said she had a restraining order
on her couch that she planned to fill out, to keep him from coming to
her apartment, where he currently spent 90-percent of his
time.
In the police report, investigators said they believe Kashi had at
least one accomplice in the robberies and may have had more,
including a female.
Reyes has not been charged with any crimes related to the robberies. But
she was booked in the Clark County Jail for possession of a controlled
substance.
Reyes said she has two children and wants to move to Hawaii. She asked
Acee if she could be put into a drug treatment program.
