A YONA resident remains behind bars after his arrest late Wednesday night by Guam Police Department Juvenile Investigation Section officers on 16 counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
GPD public information officer Allan Guzman said Roque Castro Ogo, 48, is alleged to have appropriately touched a 14-year-old girl on two separate occasions in Yona and at Untalan Middle School.
Ogo was additionally charged with 16 counts each of family violence and child abuse.
Supermarket under ringing
An employee of Payless Supermarket at the Micronesia Mall and a relative were arrested after they attempted to take more than $1,000 worth of groceries by paying only $15.
Felicitas Pineda Cunanan, 41, of Dededo, and an employee at Payless, was arrested by Dededo Precinct officers and was charged with theft of property under ringing, criminal facilitation, and guilt by complicity.
Marites Cunanan Cacayan, 34, of Dededo, was also arrested and charged with conspiracy, guilt by complicity, and criminal facilitation. The two were booked and released.
“At around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, a security guard at Payless Micronesia Mall witnessed an unusual transaction being conducted,” said Guzman. “The guard then met with the customer as she was trying to leave the store. He requested to see her receipt that showed a purchase value of $15.77.”
Guzman said the woman’s shopping cart was full of groceries. When they totaled the items in the cart, the purchase cost went up to $1,760.99.
Burglary arrests
Two men and a 17-year-old boy were arrested for allegedly breaking into a couple of homes in Dededo.
According to Guzman, a neighbor made the report to police after she suspected that three male individuals had broken into the home next door to hers in Latte Heights. The neighbor heard a loud crash.
The neighbor was able to provide police with descriptions of the three suspects.
“Police later located the suspects walking down Route 26 in Latte Heights, and through further investigation, they were also able to close two separate burglary cases, including this one,” Guzman said.
Charged by police with burglary and guilt by complicity were Leroy Matagolai Arriola, 21, of Dededo; Jonathan Anthony Leon Guerrero, 19, of Dededo; and the minor boy.
The minor remains confined at the Department of Youth Affairs and the two adults were confined at the Hagatna lock up.
“Items such as DVD players, money, and jewelry valued at over $6,000 were recovered and returned to the owners. The suspects admitted to another burglary on March 13 at the Las Pamas compound in Dededo. Stolen from that home were a PlayStation, a laptop, and a digital camera.”
Man steals purse
Police arrested Owen Joseph Reyes, 23, of Dededo, after he allegedly stole a woman’s purse from the women’s lavatory at the Guam Premier Outlets on Wednesday.
