Fallen Guam Guardsmen back home

THE bodies of the late Guam National Guardsmen who died in a vehicular accident while deployed in the Horn of Africa are back on Guam.
The bodies arrived last Saturday at 1:20 a.m. aboard Korean Airlines Flight No. 805.
A solemn ceremony was held at the old airport terminal at 3 a.m. before the bodies of the soldiers were escorted to their respective funeral homes.
At the Guam Army National Guard’s Barrigada complex, members of the Guard, the Family Readiness Groups and the community also helped honor the fallen soldiers.
The Guam National Guard announced the death of two of its soldiers March 6.
Sgt. Gregory D. Fejeran and Sgt. Christopher Fernandez were promoted to their current rank effective March 5, a posthumous promotion.
The soldiers were part of Team Charlie, 1st Battalion, 294th Infantry, which is currently deployed to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Army Sgt. Gregory D. Fejeran’s funeral is scheduled for next Tuesday. T he details of the funeral are not yet available.
Army Sgt. Christopher Fernandez’s funeral is scheduled to take place March 24 at the Guam Veterans Cemetery in Piti at 1 p.m. A wake is slated to take place at the parent’s residence in Yona from 4 p.m. March 23 to 11 a.m. March 24.
The Mass is scheduled to take place at the Mangilao church but the time is still to be determined.
Team Charlie deployed in February 2006 and is scheduled to return this May after serving an 18-month deployment. The unit is part of the Combined Joint Task Force–Horn of Africa.
An accident investigation is still ongoing at this time and no additional information has been provided.
