MURDER suspect Alvin Nash
Quinata, 23, is being required by the District Court of Guam to provide
handwriting samples which will be used to determine whether hes
the one who issued 83 checks with insufficient funds.
Quinata, a main suspect in the murder of Un Chong Kim, is also facing
criminal charges in the federal court after he stole some $52,000 in cash
and merchandise from the U.S. Navy Exchange using checks that had insufficient
funds.
In an order last Thursday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Joaquin Manibusan Jr.
granted the motion of the U.S. Attorneys Office requiring Quinata
to submit samples of his handwriting.
The defense did not object to the federal prosecutors motion.
The handwriting exemplars in names and numbers will be requested by the
Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and will be used as a standard of
comparison in determining whether Quinata is the author of the checks
in question.
Quinatas federal court trial was scheduled for April 11, 2007.
He is now in jail after he was indicted on aggravated murder charges in
connection with the death of Kim, his former employer, whose body was
found on Jan. 18, 2007 in a jungle area near the Sella Bay Lookout Park
in Umatac.
