Man arrested for kidnapping, trying to rape woman

DEDEDO Precinct officers yesterday arrested a man who allegedly kidnapped an 18-year-old woman out of her home on Bello Road.
Reunney Rino Chupero, 20, of Yigo, was charged with criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, assault with the intent to commit a criminal sexual conduct, and felonious restraint, according to Guam Police Department public affairs officer Allan Guzman.
Chupero allegedly kidnapped the woman from her home and took her to an area near the Micronesia Mall in Dededo at around 1 a.m. Witnesses thought it was a “domestic argument” and reported it to police.
Police responded to the area, but the two were not there. Two hours later or at 3:50 a.m., police responded to another disturbance call at a park in Liguan, Dededo. When they arrived, they saw a woman running towards them.
The woman told police that she was kidnapped from her home and her captor tried to rape her twice. Police then arrested Chupero.
Guzman told Variety that Chupero was also arrested on Friday for disorderly conduct. He also has some outstanding bench warrants for his arrest. He was booked and confined.
