THE Mobil Kagman Aztecs notched
back-to-back wins after clobbering the Little Legals, 26-4, in the Majors
division of the 2007 Saipan Little League Baseball tournament last Saturday
at the Miguel Tan Ge Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
Leroy Regis led the Aztecs, who won over McDonalds in their previous
game, going 5-for-5 at the plate with the three runs, one homerun, three
singles, a double and one RBI.
He was the Aztecs leadoff batter at the top of the first and made an early
statement against the Little Legals with inside the- park homerun.
Regis also pitched for the Aztecs in the first three innings posting four
strikeouts.
In other Majors results,
McDonalds bounced back from its loss to the Aztecs with a 10-5 triumph
over the Deloitte& Touche Dragons.
Peter Tenorio also started the game with an insid- the- park homer to
lead McDonalds to a five-point victory. Tenorio pitched in no relief
in six innings and had 15 strikeouts.
The Chalan Kanoa Bears made short work of the Jets ending the game with
a 17-point win, 18-1, after only four complete innings.
RJ VIllagomez pitched in no relief allowing no hits and three walks. He
had nine strikeouts.
In the last game in the Majors division, the Ol Aces II pounded
the As 20-2.
Davis Matagolai went 3-for-4 with three runs, three singles and three
RBIs.
The OilAces II pitcher pitched in no relief allowing three hits
and a walk. He had 10 strikeouts.
In the Juniors division player over at the Francisco Tan Ko
Palacios Ballfield, the Hustlers topped the OlAces, 16-5.
Norri Saralu and Eric Tenorio were perfect at the plate as they both hit
4-for-4.
Saralu had a single, a double, a triple and three runs.
Tenorio was more impressive hitting two inside-the-park homeruns with
a double and a triple.
In the other game in the Juniors division, the Jets slipped past the Tanapag
Warriors, 11-5.
Only one game was played in the Seniors division with the Fielders nipping
the Hustlers, 8-7, in seven innings.
The top of the seventh ended with the Fielders leading by four, 8-4, and
the Hustlers failed to score enough runs to steal the game.
The Hustlers moved within one, 8-7, after two RBIs from Anthony Aldan,
but the Fielders defense hold off throwing out Philip Manalo, Giovanie
Ayuyu and Codi Cruz in the suceeeding plays.
Manalo was beaten to first base, while Ayuyu and Cruz were flied out.
Derick Nedlic went 2-for-4 for the Fielders with two runs, two singles
and two walks.
