MRA: Bikes used at Rota races to arrive Saturday

(MRA)—The Marianas Racing Association would like to remind riders who participated in the exhibition and regular races during the San Isidro Fiesta celebration in Rota that the containers carrying their bikes will arrive on Saipan this Saturday.
Twenty-two riders from Saipan participated in the Sinapalo race on March 10 and 11, while Rota fielded Nature Boy King Atalig, William Kani and Jerome Fujihira.
The winners were Emelsha Cepeda (PW-50), Patty Cepeda (PW-80), Edinna Cepeda (60-65) and Janiece Salas (powerpuff).
Rota’s pride Nature Boy Atalig won the 80-85 novice class beating William Kani, also of Rota, and Saipan’s Nathan Quitano.
Aaron Pangelinan ruled the 80-85 expert class defeating Chris-Chris Alepuyo and Frank Santos.
Shane Alvarez topped the 1235-250 novice class, followed by Hanky and DJ Camacho. Ellery Cruz prevailed in the 125-250 expert class outracing Dave Celis and Meagan Cruz.
Melvin Cepeda placed first in the veterans class outclassing Dave Celis and Jayvee Villoria.
DJ Camacho bounced back winning the Big Boy ATV against Hanky and Alvarez. Britney Camacho topped the Mini ATV.
Winners received trophies made from Efit wood.
According to an MRA media release, there were five races over the weekend and Saipan riders also had educational tours on March 9.
“There were educational site seeing for the riders on Friday to Mochong Latte Stone and they were briefed on the history of the Latte Stone by Cong. Crispin Ogo, Mr. Isaac Calvo Jr., and Vice-Chairman Roy Masga. Then theyheaded to Taga Latte Stone and the Bird Sanctuary.
Meanwhile, MRA thanked Rep.Crispin Ogo, Shaw and Verna Taisacan, Stan and Bobbie Taisacan for their help in the weekend event.
“We also want to thank all those families who hosted the MRA riders and families, and to those we may have fail to mention we thank them all for their kind hospitality. Most of all we want to thank the wonderful people of Rota for coming out and supporting the motocross races on both days and for having us put up a show for them. MRA thank also Mr. Henry Camacho Sr. and Mr. Frank Santos for traveling to Rota ahead of the scheduled race date to help out at the track, our treasurer Mrs. Bridget Camacho who was also very helpful in attending to all our riders. Mr. Bobby Castro, our announcer and Mr. Jun Alepuyo, our rubber band man, Mrs. Hercia Alepuyo for helping out in the flag and Ms. Florence Mendiola for helping in the lap count,” the released stated.
