Smokin’ Wheels to celebrate the 25th running of Guam’s premier motorsport event

SMOKIN’ Wheels, Guam’s longest running motorsports racing event, will celebrate a milestone when racers take to the track for the 25th running of this Guam racing tradition.
The 25th Smokin’ Wheels will take place at the Guam International Raceway in Yigo on April 13, 14 and 15.
Smokin’ Wheels 2006 was the biggest Smokin’ Wheels to date with a crowd of over 6,000 fans flocking to the Yigo race track. Smokin’ Wheels 2006 also upped the number of different motorsports events held in one place, over one weekend with 6 different motorsport events on the weekend schedule including Off-Road, Drag, Rock Crawling, Mud Bog, Drifting and AutoCross.
The 25th Smokin’ Wheels will continue the exciting additions by highlighting all the various motorsports events throughout the upcoming 3-day, anniversary event.
Plus, this year, the 25th Smokin’ Wheels will feature Japan racing legend Hiro Matsushita, who is now an off-road racer, but was Japan’s top Indy Car driver for many years. Matushita has accepted an invitation to compete in the 25th Smokin’ Wheels.
Something new for this year will be a special track created for island Auto Dealers to allow potential customers to test drive vehicles on. It’s the first annual Auto Dealers Off-Road Test Track. Auto Dealers are being invited to participate in this feature by sponsoring their vehicle on the track. There will also be a time trails race on the main track for all dealers to run their vehicles in.
The 25th Smokin’ Wheels promises to be the most exciting Smokin Wheels to date as the Guam Racing Federation makes special plans for this 25th anniversary event.
