A MAN was detained over the weekend for stabbing one of his housemates.
The suspect, You Cai Ding, a resident of Prince Hotel in Sadog Tasi, was arrested minutes after the incident that took place at 5:25 p.m. inside the room he was sharing with the victim, as Hao Jie Zhuang, 35.
Hao Jie Zhuang sustained a stab wound in the left portion of the back of his head.
He was also wounded in the left hand, and suffered scratches in the upper portion of his left arm.
Preliminary investigation by the Department of Public Safety showed that Hao Jie Zhuang had dropped off some rags that were supposed to be for the other tenants sharing the room with him.
It was not clear what angered You Cai Ding, but an argument ensued between him and Hao Jie Zhuang.
You Cai Ding punched the victim several times, police were told.
Hao Jie Zhuang was bleeding when responding police officers and medical personnel arrived at the scene.
You Cai Ding is expected to be charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
