THE Philippine Bowling Association
concluded the third season of the PBA-Budweiser Monday Night League with
an award ceremony last Monday at the Saipan Bowling Center.
Leading the awardees was Super Fafa, who topped the tournament with a
47-25 record. For their feat, Super Fafa received a trophy and $450 check.
In second place was Team Familia/Tudela Enterprise, which had a 43-29
record, followed by Star Team (40.5-21.5), Lucky Shot (40.5-31.5) and
CIC-AON (39-33). Second to third placers took home $300, $250, $150 and
$100, respectively.
There were also special awards given to participating teams.
Winning in the high game scratch was SBC, who had 904 pins to beat Super
Fafa (838).
SBC took home two more special team awards prevailing in the high game
handicap and high series scratch categories. SBC had 933 pins in the high
game handicap to edge Team Familia/Tudela Enterprises and hit 2,749 pins
to beat Super Fafa (2,465).
Team Familia/Tudela Enterprise claimed the high series with handicap award
with its 2,605 pins. The Uragon Boys placed second with 2,578 pins.
In the individual awards, Robert Talavera went home with three titles.
He led in the high game scratch, high series scratch and high average.
Talavera posted 269 in the high game scratch to beat Jesus Sugue (268),
earned 727 pins in the high series scratch downing Jun Canillo (676) and
scored an average of 213.09 to rule the mens high average category.
Other winners in the mens division were Sugue, who topped the high
game with handicap with his 298 pins outclassing Zack Cruz (290) and Canillo
(742) slipping past Talavera (727).
Rey Madrillejos and Yho Villavicencio were named Most Improved Bowlers.
Winners in the ladies division were Lynn Teregeyo, Christine Camacho,
Emi Williams, and Gigi Zapanta.
Teregeyo and Camacho tied in the high game scratch with their identical
scores of 233. Camacho grabbed her second individual award after topping
the high game handicap beating Zapanta, 270-256.
Teregeyo also had two individual awards as she has the high average in
the ladies division with 176.62.
Zapanta redeemed herself in the high series with handicap edging Vera
Pangelinan, 716-705, while Williams prevailed in the high scratch series
defeating Teregeyo, 593-590.
