A search and rescue training
seminar will be conducted by representatives from the United States Coast
Guard Sector Guam beginning on March 21 to March 22.
The two-day training will also feature a special training to dive/tour
boat operators and tour company owners.
A statement from the Vice President Office said that all those involved
in the search and rescue are asked to attend.
The venue of the seminar will be at the Palau Community College Cafeteria
.
On March 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the first day of the seminar will cover
the Palau search and rescue plan, fundamental drift theory, search planning
variables, search and rescue distress communication.
From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be a public boating safety outreach presentation
and an open forum will follow.
On March 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. , the seminar topic will cover on-scene
coordination, boating safety, basic seamanship, mass rescue and operation
, Palau and Guam case studies and Medevac scenarios.
From 7 to 9 p.m. a special training for dive tour boat operators and tour
company owners.
