Governor Vicky Kanai has lauded
the successful Airai Youth Day 2007 held at the Yelch Ballfiled with all
the six hamlets competing for the one-day event on March 15.
The event was a joint effort by the Airai State Government and the Belias
Sports Association.
Ngerusar Hamlet became the overall winner after compiling 41 points in
different sporting events and entertainment activities.
Ngetkib Hamlet finished second with 39 points, Ngchesechang third (37),
Ngeruluobel and Ordomel tied for fourth (30), and Oikull fifth (15). See

The top three were awarded trophies while the rest got certificates.
Aside from ballgames, there were also entertainment activities like music
and dance, singing competition and other fun activities.
Kanai said that the big turnout was attributed to the support of the youth
and parents and guests and sponsors.
The BSA and Airai State expressed appreciation to the following individuals,
businesses and government agencies for their assistance in making the
event successful: Palau National Olympic Committee, Bureau of Lands and
Surveys, Quincy Kuniyoshi, Surangel and Sons, KB Shell, Rock Islands Beverage
and Co., Save More Store, Arvin and Edna Raymond, Henrietta Merci, Sen.
Santy Asanuma, Del. Kerai Ngirmekur, 7K Enterprise, Alii Restaurant, Taiwan
Technical Mission Team, Philiup Polloi, Pastor Amador Ngirkelau, Marygold
Yobech, Obak Clarence, Nirai Tmetuchl, BSA officers and members, Del.
Noah Secharaimul, Airai hamlet Delegates and Airai Stat staffs.
Meanwhile, the BSA and Airai State is currently preparing for a similar
sporting events and entertainment on April 5-6-7 in celebration of the
17th Anniversary of Airai Constitution.
Gov. Kanai is inviting the people and residents of Airai to join this
upcoming celebration that promised to be field again with fun and games.
