Patriots win sixth straight; Twins slip past Red Sox

DEFENDING champion SAIPANCELL Patriots recorded their second shut-out victory blanking the Toyota Matrix, 11-0, in the Majors division of the 2007 Saipan Little League Baseball tournament last Saturday at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
The Patriots, who clobbered the Jets, 29-0, on March 11, cruised to their sixth win in as many games after only three and a half innings.
Chris Mizer pitched in no relief posting nine strikeouts and allowing only one hit and a walk.
On offense, Mizer was perfect at the plate hitting 3-for-3 with a single, a double, a triple and three RBIs.
Third baseman Jeremy Rabauliman went 2-for-3 with one run, one homer, a single and three RBIs. First baseman Jeremy Sablan was also 2-for-3 with three runs, a double and a triple
With the loss, the Matrix dropped to a 1-5 record.
In other Majors results last Saturday, the Twins nailed their fifth victory after downing the Bank of Saipan/Red Sox, 7-4.
The Hustlers ended the AA Enteprise/Tanapag Braves winning streak after pulling off a 4-2 victory.
Before their game against the Hustlers, the Braves were on a four-game winning run.
The Hustlers improved to a 5-1 record tying the Twins in second place.
The Pirates earned their third win in six games after defeating the Ol’Aces 1, 8-1. The Ol’Aces one have only a victory in seven matches.
Majors games were also played last Friday with the Ol’Aces II, Little Legals McDonald’s prevailing against their foes.
The Ol’Aces II downed the Chalan Kanoa Bears, 13-3, the Little Legals nipped the Jets, 20-16 and McDonald’s whipped the A’s, 17-9.
In the Seniors League, the Jets topped the Fielders last Friday, 15-8.
But the Fielders failed to notch back-to-back wins when they lost to the Falcons last Saturday, 8-13.
In the Big League, the Hustlers won over the Northern Angels, 7-3.
