A 39-YEAR-old Guam National Army Guard sergeant died after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a vehicle on Route 16 in Harmon yesterday morning.
Guam Police Department public information officer Allan Guzman said the driver of the motorcycle, identified as Sgt. Peter Paul Nartia of Dededo, was traveling south on Route 16 by the Guam Business Center when he collided with a blue Nissan Sentra.
Guam Fire Department spokes-person Phyllis Blas told Variety that the accident was reported at 8:24 a.m.
Blas said GFD’s medic 12 and ALS 1 units, as well as Scout 12 and Rescue 1 and 2, responded to the accident.
CPR was administered at the scene of the accident and while en route to the Guam Memorial Hospital. Nartia was pronounced dead at GMH.
There have been no citations issued as of press time. Guzman said GPD Highway Division investigators are looking into whether speed and/or alcohol were factors in the crash.
