2 women arrested for forgery

By Trina A. San Agustin
Variety News Staff

TWO female employees at Marcial Sablan Elementary School in Agat were arrested this weekend after they forged thousands of dollars worth of checks, according to Guam Police Department public information officer Allan Guzman.
Josephine C.R. De Guzman, 38, of Agat, and Regina M.R. Robert, 29, of Yigo, were arrested and charged in the case.
De Guzman was charged with nine counts each of forgery and theft of property, while Robert was charged with one count of forgery and theft of property.
The two women were booked and released.
Guzman told Variety that De Guzman befriended a 58-year-old man who owned the checks, and this was how she attained the checks.
Robert is alleged to have gotten involved as she found out about the check-cashing scheme through De Guzman, who is her co-worker at the school.
Police seek armed robber
In other news, police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a Sunday morning armed robbery at the Shell station in Barrigada.
Guzman said the suspect entered the establishment through the back and held a female cashier at knife point and demanded money. There was a male employee at the gas station at the time but he was outside and was unaware of what was going on inside.
The man police are looking for is in his 30s, stands 5-feet-3-inches tall, and is of dark complexion, and medium build. He was last seen wearing a bandana over his face, with white shoes, white shorts, and a white shirt.
If you have any information on this case, call GPD at 472-8911 or Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP (4357). Crime Stoppers does not use caller ID and you do not have to leave your name.
