Antonio Dragons and the As entered the win column in the Majors
division of the 2007 Saipan Little League Baseball tournament after beating
separate foes last Sunday at the Miguel Tan Ge Basa Pangelinan
Ballfield.
The Dragons downed the Jets, 13-6, after three complete innings, to notch
their first victory after four matches.
Jonathan Ignacio led the Dragons going 3-for-3 at the plate with two inside-the-park
homeruns and two RBIs.
The As played in the first game last Sunday and edged the Little
Legals in six innings, 24-19, for their first win in four games.
Featured in the second match were the Chalan Kanoa Bears against McDonalds
with the latter pulling off a 10-9 victory after five and a half innings.
Patrick Tenorio went 3-for-4 with two runs to lift McDonalds to
a one-point win.
The Mobil/Kagman Aztecs had an easier win in the third match, blanking
the OlAces II, 5-0.
Ricardo Dela Cruz pitched for the Aztecs in five innings and had eight
strikeouts. Leroy Regis relieved him at the top of the sixth and posted
two strikeouts.
In other division results, the Pirates won in the Junior League, the Jets
prevailed in the Seniors and the Hustlers triumphed in the Big League.
The Pirates whipped the OlAces, 15-6, while the Jets topped the
Hustlers, 10-3.
The Hustlers and the Pirates played only one inning last Sunday in the
Big League with the former scoring a run to eke out a 7-6 victory.
The first six innings of the Hustlers-Pirates tiff were played last Friday
with the game tied at 6-all. The game was suspended due to a scheduled
match in the 2007 Budweiser Saipan Major League baseball tournament at
the Francisco Tan Ko Palacios Ballfield.
