Midseason race for first heats up Thursday

AS the Budweiser Baseball League begins its second half of play the race for first is a tight one with two teams sitting on top of the standings and three teams within one game of the first place honors.
The third game of this second half of the season will showcase the top two teams in a head to head match up to decide who will be in sole possession of first place. The 5-1 Guam Greyhounds will take on the 5-1 Bank of Guam Athletics Thursday, March 29th.
The Game will put the winner at a 6-1 record and drop the losing team to 5-2 along with the Pepsi Giants who won the opener of the second half over the Kosrae Speedos 15-6.
The game should be a good one with the Athletics expected to showcase Carlos Quinata who earlier in the season took a no hitter into the final inning of the game where it was broken up by a single to right.
Friday will then pit the Pepsi Giants against the 1-5 Palau Stingers giving the Pepsi Giants the chance to move within a half game of first place.
