Koror-Davao sisterhood forged

By Nazario Rodriguez Jr.
Horizon news staff

Koror State Governor Yositaka Adachi led a 30-man delegation from Palau recently to the Philippines and completed a historic forging of sister-city agreement with Davao City, considered as the leading growth center in Mindanao.
The sisterhood pact will involve undertakings by various sectors.
Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Adachi vowed for stronger cooperation during the signing of the memorandum of agreement on March 17 that would include trade and investment promotion, economic development, tourism development, education, culture and sports, science and technology, agriculture and fisheries, as well as other fields which both cities may agree on.
Palau has opened selective entries of fruits like mango, banana, pineapple, papaya and others last year and these are now available here.
Following the opening of the Davao to Palau route by Asian Spirit, a high level delegation courtesy of the airlines during the inaugural flight went to Davao and it was followed by a familiarization tour that involved tour operators and travel agencies.
Gov. Adachi was unavailable for comments yesterday.
