GOP says precinct clubs ‘diverse, dynamic’

A SIGNIFICANT number of the appointed precinct leaders in the NMI Republican Party are women and young adults, according to GOP secretary Kimo Rosario.
Rosario, 35, himself the youngest member of the GOP board, described the new precinct club officers as “diverse and dynamic.”
He said it brings him “great pleasure and pride to see more young adults actively participating in the CNMI’s political process.”
“This is a clear indication of their growing interest in government and in the public policies that directly affect them,” he added.
Rosario said he hopes this trend will continue so that women and youth will no longer be “underrepresented in government.”
In related news, GOP’s Precinct 3 club elected its new set of officers on Tuesday night at the residence of Tom Saures on Middle Road.
They are Skep Palacios, chairman; Roman V. Reyes, vice chairman; and Carlyn DLG. Hofschneider, Secretary-Treasurer.
Rosario said no selection of legislative candidates is taking place this week.
He said only the precinct club officers will be elected and the schedule for the nomination of candidates will be determined by the precinct clubs themselves.
