The Ngiwal 79ers defeated
Airai, 91-87, on Saturday night March 24 to keep their winning run in
the second round of Division II games in the NBL.
Carson led the 79ers brunt of attacks with 32 points and they are
now 5-0 on top of Pool Two.
The loss was Airais third in five outings.
Also on Saturday, Peches defeated Masons Hardware, 100-55 while
PPR won over On Fire, 76-62.
Earlier on Friday March 23, the Jaguars beat Mesang, 69-59 while the Bullets
defeated Klebokel, 90-71 as Rush booked one of the highest scores this
season with 42.
On March 22, the Stingers escaped with a 79-75 win over Mesekiu with Topps
Sungino scoring 11 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter while Tochong
and Charlie added 20 and 18.
The Stingers also remained undefeated after four matches with 4-0 in second
place behind the Jaguars in Pool One.
Also on March 22 Kabong outshone Ngiwal Central, 77-72, and Peches edged
out the Blue Sharks, 63-62 as Bedor Kyota scored six of his 14 points
in the fourth.

In the lone game of Division I on March 23, the Breakers ousted the Islanders,
68-66, as Dexter scored three of his game total of four points in the
endgame that capped his teams fourth victory in five games in the
second round.
The Breakers are now 10-4 after the second round while the Islanders are
carrying a 7-7 card.
