Ex-A. Samoa official under investigation

PAGO PAGO (Pacnews) — The former head of American Samoa’s Territorial Office of Homeland Security is under investigation by the U.S. government
The investigation is part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s probe into spending of federal funds awarded to TOHS and the Territorial Office of Emergency Management Coordinating Office.
Leiataua B. Alailima was not allowed to board Sunday night’s Hawaiian Airlines flight to Honolulu because of a last minute stop order from the local Attorney General’s Office.
The 30-day stop order for Leiataua lists “conspiracy” as the offence and that its part of a federal investigation. Acting Attorney General Frederick O’Brien said the stop order was based on a request from the FBI.
He declined to comment on the specifics of the stop order, or confirm that “conspiracy” was the offense listed on the order.
