Court suspends CUC payments due from Torres

THE Superior Court has suspended all payments due under the promissory note signed by Rep. Stanley T. Torres and his consultant Jack A. Angello promising to pay the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. while their request to stop the disconnection of electrical service is still pending in court.
Associate Judge David A. Wiseman in an order yesterday granted the motion of Torres and Angello.
Torres, Ind.-Saipan, and Angello were represented by Wesley Bogdan while CUC was represented by Edward Manibusan and Steve Newman.
Wiseman said that while the matter was still pending for decision, the court finds it necessary to enter an interim order with respect to any payments due to CUC.
Torres and Angello have asked the court to stop CUC from cutting their electrical service for non-payment of the disputed billing until the review process is completed.
Torres and Angello brought action against CUC in Superior Court after their appeal was denied by the utilities agency.
Torres and Angello filed an appeal from CUC’s administrative order denying their motion for summary adjudication disputing their billings.
