AGO charges 4 in separate theft cases

THREE women and one man have been charged by the Attorney General’s Office for theft in separate incidents.
The defendants are Jose B. Manglona, 31; Isabel Babauta, 51; Meliza DLG. Babauta, 35; and Barbie Ann Borja, 26.
Manglona, a convicted burglar, was charged with theft, criminal mischief and criminal trespass for stealing a sack of copper wire belonging to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. and Telesource.
According to the information filed in court by acting Chief Prosecutor Mike Nisperos, Manglona, on April 9, took property belonging to CUC in Marpo Valley and caused damage to a power pole and transformer. The estimated cost of repair is $11,630.
Manglona, the information added, “did unlawfully make an entry and was advised to leave but refused to leave the CUC premises in Marpo Valley.”
Manglona was arrested and is currently out on bail. He was ordered to appear in court on May 11 for arraignment.
The Babautas and Borja were charged for taking the money of Jesus M. Babauta on Feb. 13, and March 11.
The information stated that Meliza Babauta and Barbie Ann Borja unlawfully took money from Jesus M. Babauta amounting to $2,000 on Feb. 13.
Isabel Babauta on March 11 took money from Jesus M. Babauta amounting to $200, the information added.
Police have arrested Meliza Babauta and Barbie Ann Borja.
The affidavit submitted to the court stated that Barbie Ann Borja and Meliza Babauta are related to the victim.
Babauta and Borja are the wife and girlfriend of individuals related to the victim.
