Incoming Australian
Royal Navy Technical Adviser, Chief Petty Officer Paul "Bear"
Kenny, formerly took over the position of Chief Petty Officer Werner Stach
on April 20.
Aussie Ends Term in Palau
Stach ended his three-year term in Palau. Stach had been working with
the Division of Marine Law Enforcement under the Ministry of Justice.
Lasy week as a token of appreciation, Vice President and Minister of Justice
Elias Camsek Chin presented Stach with a retired Palauan flag during a
small ceremony .
Stachs replacement, Bear will provide specialist mechanical engineering
advice to the Division of Marine Law as part of Australias commitment
to Palaus Patrol Boat Program.
The current Maritime Surveillance Adviser, Lieutenant Commander Dave Hannah
said that the farewell reception for Werner Firday night was also to welcome
Bear.
Although we will all miss Werner, our small team is lucky to be joined
by an engineer with Bears experience. I expect that he will keep
up the excellent work that the Advisers have been doing over the last
ten years."
Bear joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1978 and has served in numerous
vessels including patrol boats, survey craft, amphibious craft and major
warships. He has also experience in the Sea Training Group roles. He is
accompanied by his wife Sharon. They are all looking forward to experiencing
the wonderful sights, culture and people of Palau.
