KOBLERVILLE Elementary School won its debut in the 2006-2007 Elementary School Boys and Girls’ Fast-pitch Softball tournament yesterday at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
The Lady Umangs started Koblerville’s campaign with a 10-5 victory over Oleai Elementary School.
A three-run fifth inning helped the Lady Umangs pull off a close win over Oleai.
After four complete innings, Koblerville was up by only one, 7-6. Oleai and Koblerville both had a five-run fourth inning.
At the top of the fifth, Cassadra, Michelle and Kimberly delivered the needed runs for the Lady Umangs to take a 10-6 lead.
Oleai had only one run at the bottom of the fifth and failed to steal the game when it was shut out at the bottom of the sixth and last inning.
In the boys’ division, Koblerville had an easier time against Oleai posting a 5-1 victory.
The Umangs blanked Oleai in the first six innings before allowing Oleai’s Sid to score his team’s lone run at the bottom of the seventh inning.
Jared, Richard, Brandon, Wesley and Donald scored one goal apiece for the Umangs.
Meanwhile, in other results, Dandan won over Oleai in the boys’ division last Thursday, 7-3.
Oleai’s girls’ team prevailed over Dandan, 15-1.
Last Friday, Garapan Elementary School whipped Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School, 10-2, in the boys’ division.
Garapan also won the girls’ division beating GTC by a point, 7-6.
