Let’s regulate

THE issue of private and government veterinarians should be looked at positively since it offers an approach for our serious problems with stray dogs in our community. A point of advice: both entities can greatly help the community if only the policymakers are on their toes to stand with the will-power to regulate. In our community there are many disadvantaged people who own or want to help animals that are in need of medical attention. However, the cost is beyond their means. It is to our advantage to establish a qualifying policy for this group. This would also encourage others address our stray dog problem.
But if we allow Dr. Tudor to fold up because of stiff competition, would Dr. Dela Cruz’s facility be there, and able to continue?
Let’s remind ourselves of our past government operations: “Here today, gone tomorrow.”
For now, let’s appreciate both service providers and ask our government to get involved.
