Salvatore assumes new position at Kansas university

CECILIA Salvatore, one of the two final candidates for the Northern Marianas College presidency, will assume a new position at Emporia State University in Kansas where she is employed.
Starting May 14, Dr. Salvatore will be the doctoral program coordinator for the school of library and information management.
Her promotion was announced by Robert Grover, the university’s associate vice president for academic affairs and interim dean of the school of library and information management.
Salvatore teaches doctoral courses in administrative theory and information organization theory.
At the master’s level, her teaching focuses on management, organization theory, assessment of community information needs, theoretical foundations of service, information transfer and the knowledge society, global information infrastructure and archival studies.
Salvatore received her bachelor’s degree from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York; her master’s degree in library science from the State University of New York at Buffalo; and her Ph.D. in library and information science from the University of Texas at Austin.
She has worked as a librarian and director at an academic library, a research and special collections library, a public library, and archives in New York and Guam.
