GTA to donate $1,000 for senior citizens

SENATOR Jesse Lujan, R-Tamuning and chairman of the Senior Citizens Committee, will receive a $1,000 check from GTA at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the legislative Public Hearing Room. The donation will help in the hosting of Guam’s senior citizens at a celebration at the Sandcastle on May 16, a press release said.
The public is invited to the celebration and more corporate support for non-profit community events is encouraged. Representing GTA will be Tom Camacho, vice president for marketing, and Roland Certeza, vice president for sales.
Each year during Senior Citizens Month, the legislative committee chairman who oversees public programs for senior citizens, organizes a gala luncheon that welcomes hundreds of manamko’ from centers island-wide to a single event.
“They love this break in their routine, when they can be with others of their generation in one special place that many have never seen,” Lujan said. “We depend on good corporate citizens like GTA to keep these annual events going through times of government financial crisis.”
